Brian E. Sheehan

Brian E. Sheehan, from Bird Island, Minnesota, USA, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the associationís 94th International Convention, held in Seattle, Washington, USA July 4-8, 2011.

Director Sheehan is the founder and CEO of Rural Computer Consultants, a software development company.

Bob Smith, International Director

A member of the Bird Island Lions Club since 1991, he has held many offices within the association, including club president, zone chair, Webmaster tech advisor, leadership chair, membership chair, retention chair, district convention chair, vice district governor, district governor, council chair, long range planning chair, membership chair, retention chair, womenís initiative chair and multiple district convention chair. He also served as GMT liaison and as a presenter at numerous Lions events, including the USA/Canada Forum.

In recognition of his service to the association, he has received numerous awards including Club Lion of the Year, the District 5M 4 Diabetes Awareness Award, the MD 5M Web Site Appreciation Award, the MD 5M Al Jensen Leadership Award, the Founders Membership Growth Award, three International Presidentís Certificates of Appreciation, an International Presidentís Leadership Award and an International Presidentís Medal. He is a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.

In addition to his Lions activities, Director Sheehan is active in numerous professional and community organizations. He has served as president of Bird Island Civic and Commerce, director of the Learning Funhouse and as a member of various school committees. He also received the 2011 U.S. Small Business Association Minnesota Small Business Person of the Year Award.

Director Sheehan and his wife, Lori, also a Lion, have two sons and two daughters.

For golf enthusiasts, Lake Morey is home to a championship golf course that is home to the annual Vermont Open. And we will have plenty of other fun and games as well!

As a fun and traditional part of the 2012 Multiple District 23 State Convention, we are pleased to announce that the Annual Bob Petrie Invitational Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, April 27, 2012, commencing at approximately 12:30 p.m. The event will take place at the beautiful Lake Morey Country Club in Fairlee, VT, home of the Vermont State Open Golf Championship.

A block of tee times is being held for the Connecticut Lions, so please send a listing of your foursomes (or singles) to PCC Mark Lyon as soon as possible at, or call (203) 770-9291.

The rate will be $45.00 plus tax for 18 holes of challenging and picturesque golf with a cart. We look forward to having you join us, and for the opportunity to earn bragging rights in taking home the coveted Bob Petrie trophy.
